Happy Irishness!

I have been very sick these past two weeks! I hope I will be getting over it very soon. I hope everyone enjoys our new blog theme. I know that it isn't spring yet but looking at everyone's St. Patrick's Day backgrounds got me thinking of spring, flowers, clovers, rainbows, and everything warm and sunny. Josh and I planted our paper white narcissus a couple weeks ago and they are starting to bloom! I love plants and having blooming flowers in our dining area is wonderful! I haven't taken any pictures of them but here is a picture from the Web of what our flowers will look like.

I bought the bulbs pretty cheap at wal-mart after it was too late to plant them. If you put them in a bag (So it is dark) in the fridge you can trick them into blooming indoors, anytime of the year. Just make sure they are in the fridge for at least a couple weeks. Then you can plant them in soil in a pot, or in a vase with rocks. If you decide to use the vase make sure the water level stays at the bottom of the bulbs. If you have too much water the bulbs with rot out. That is what happened to my Lilies. Once the roots start growing it gets easier to determine where the water level should be. If you try it let me know how it goes! After our flowers really start blooming I will post a picture! So even though it is still winter and February I want to say Happy Spring and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Enjoy the Irish tunes!
